A sustainable new neighbourhood is coming to Mickleover

Parker Strategic Land is preparing an outline planning application for a sustainable community south of Mickleover, comprising up to 2,100 homes, a Neighbourhood Centre with community and retail space, and a new countryside park. The development will be guided by a vision of healthy living rooted in the founding principles of the former Pastures Hospital.

The site forms part of a wider strategic allocation (STRA2) for development to the south of Mickleover, as identified in the emerging South Derbyshire District Council Local Plan. These ambitious proposals aim to create a self-sustaining neighbourhood, whilst embracing and protecting Mickleover and Burnaston's historic character and increase enjoyment and appreciation of the natural setting of the surrounding landscape by creating accessible new green spaces.

Mickleover South will deliver new community and educational facilities for both current and future residents, as well as providing desirable connections to the existing Pastures Estate, Merlin Way, Burnaston village to the west and Mickleover and Derby to the east.

Thank you to those who took the time to leave feedback and join our consultation sessions. The consultation window has now closed, and the project team is reviewing all feedback received prior to submitting an outline planning application to South Derbyshire District Council Plan later this summer.

This website will remain live to provide residents with further information about the proposals, including access to a recording of our webinar session below.
